  • Random

Overheard on the bus while passing by Ion Orchard a few weeks ago.

Girl: "Wow, it sure looks expemsive."
Guy: "Ya, it does. All that glass..."
    Girl: "I meant the brands!!!"

Reminds me of certain conversations I have with John.

On Friday, we had the "Dental Pledge" ceremony in which we basically promised to be good and ethical dentists of Singapore. Was much more grandiose compared to last year. Guess the venue inched it up a notch. Anyway, as I went to the registration counter to sign in, the lady asked me which registration list do I belong to. And I said, "Final year student". So she passed me the list and told me to sign in. The list was empty, which I thought was rather strange as I was pretty sure some of my other classmates had already arrived. But no, the lady said, "Final year student right? You're the first to arrive." Then suddenly, I saw the second list and realized I was mistaken. I was not a final year student anymore, I was a newly registered dentist.

Old habits die hard. I definitely do not want to relieve that nightmarish experience of being a final year undergrad dental student again.

  • Developed I have

...an allergy...to latex...at least I think so. Eesh. After four years of dental school, it has to turn up now?

Despite that, life is good. Like my work so feeling happy mostly.

    Taking yoga lessons now.

And cooking dinner more frequently. I need more recipes.

  • Sleepy

It's not been the best of weeks. Still, count my blessings. Feeling really tired and sleepy now. Down with a running nose. *Hates running nose*

Have been attempting to have home-cooked food weekly. The effort is well...not worth it...economically and time-wise. But well, for the sake of health...

    Feeling very out of sorts...

One of the new found joys - More free time. Finally able to do more reading. Next book to read will be Journey to The Centre of The Earth by Jules Verne. I've already got the book

Finally saw a case of acute gingivitis. I always thought that it was a myth...goes to show how inexperienced I am. Still enjoying work more than school though.

Jurong Point may just have enough potential to be my adopted shopping mall. Lol. Benn looking for a "Midvalley" here for ages.

On a side note, had to share a table with a random stranger today. The said middle aged lady plonked herself down opposite me, and of course, I could not say no. The only thing is, she would chat not stop to me (despite the fact that I mumbled in reply and concentrated on staring at my bowl of rice). The conversation I could deal with, but the thing was, she kept coughing into my bowl of soup and rice. Argh! Disgusted, absolutely. Must be retribution for my coughing bouts in UK. And to top it off, she had halitosis. I secretly suspected that she wanted to eat my leftovers (even though she didn't look homeless or poor) because she refused to leave! And ate her iced dessert at a snail's pace. And kept mentioning pointedly about how "good" my dish looks (it was just plain rice and soup).

    Very annoyed and disgusted.
